Summary
Amanda Duggan is the Managing Director of ALONGSIDE, the organisation she founded in 2010.
With the objective of helping businesses achieve their potential and drive performance through specialist leadership support, Amanda established ALONGSIDE with the view that success can be achieved by maximising strengths and utilising the talents of people, in direct opposition to some more traditional views that focus on ‘fixing’ weaknesses.
Following a 17-year career in the banking sector with the Halifax, where Amanda became one of the bank’s youngest branch managers, in 1997 she opted for a career change, joining Dale Carnegie Training where she has gone on to have international success.
Over a 15 year period Amanda has worked with clients to develop their people and businesses in the arena of leadership development, building high performance teams and through coaching and facilitation, and became one of only a handful of Dale Carnegie Master Trainers who acted as a Subject Matter Expert for Leadership and Process Improvement, delivering training in 26 different countries.
Through her work with ALONGSIDE, Amanda now specialises in coaching Senior Managers and Executives, providing them with a supportive yet challenging sounding board to enable them to gain clarity around their vision and business strategies.
Amanda has extensive experience working in both the private and government sectors. She has worked with blue chip companies to design and deliver innovative training and development solutions. Her ability to build strong relationships and to gain an in-depth understanding of her clients’ businesses has enabled her to build enduring partnerships with her clients.
Amanda has been involved in the Performance Improvement field for over 15 years. Before joining Dale Carnegie in 1998, she worked with ideasUK, supporting clients with the introduction of employee involvement and recognition programmes. During this period she worked with organisations in Europe, South Africa and the Middle East.
