David’s work within Severn Trent Plc involved applying much of the above to develop and implement pro-active and effective systems for the management of Health Safety and Risk throughout the Severn Trent Group worldwide including work within Severn Trent Water and Biffa Waste Services.
His career within the consultancy arena comprised General Management and Consultant roles running companies that provided Health, Safety and Environmental advice to both industry and commerce. This work included liaising with all levels of management from CEOs to first line supervisors. Projects covered ranged from Policy Definition, Health, Safety and Environmental Auditing and the Implementation of Systems for the Pro-active Management of Health, Safety, Fire Security and Risk Management, to specific issues such as the utilisation of Hazard and Operability Study techniques for the identification and control of chemical hazards. Much of this work involved convincing management of the business benefits associated with this work and then with integrating H&S Management into the General Business Management framework of the organisations concerned.
Recent commissions include undertaking work for ConocoPhillips, the Ministry of Defence, Irwell Valley Housing Association , Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Hydra Valve and Abbey Metal Finishing.
