Changes to Flexible Working

Changes to Flexible Working

Many of us are still adjusting to the flexible changes introduced on 6 April 2024. The new Government intends to make more radical changes, effectively allowing employees to choose when, where and how they work.

What can you do to protect your business? I would suggest a strategic review of your workforce. This would look at:

 the services you are committed to provide to your clients or customers

 the times when your clients or customers need your employees to be available

 any continuity issues and handover strategies you may need to have in place

 what tasks can be performed outside core hours

 what tasks can be performed remotely

 how flexible can you be when it comes to training and developing employees

 how reporting lines operate

This more flexible mindset will be difficult to some, but it is anticiapted that refusing flexibility will be a difficult decision to defend in the new world order.

Having a plan that demonstrates your clients’ or customers’ needs, and your own operational requirements, will make it much easier to respond to flexible working requests going forward.

If you need support in understanding and implementing the changes do get in touch.
