A Straight-Talking Approach to Selling Homes That Don’t Sell Themselves

A Straight-Talking Approach to Selling Homes That…

I’ve spent the last five years working in property, and during that time I’ve found my niche by doing the work many shy away from; selling homes that have been stuck on the market. Some of these are properties that have had viewings but no offers, little interest but no urgency, and owners who’ve been told to “just wait it out.” I don’t believe waiting is a strategy.

I specialise in resetting sales that have lost momentum. That means taking an honest look at pricing, presentation, and positioning, and being clear about what’s actually holding buyers back. In one recent case, I sold a property within two weeks after it had been on the market for 18 months. The issue wasn’t the house, it was how it was being marketed and perceived. Once that was corrected, the result followed quickly.

I now partner with The Property Experts, which allows me to combine local knowledge with a wider, data-led approach to selling. My role is not just to list property, but to advise strategically, particularly when a sale hasn’t gone to plan. I work closely with clients who are frustrated, unsure of their next move, or wary after a long period on the market, and provide clear, straight answers about what needs to change to move forward.

Alongside residential resales, I’ve also spent several years working with new build homes, including purchasing off plan. This has given me a strong understanding of how developers price, market, and create urgency, and how those same principles can be applied to residential homes that are struggling to attract buyers. I understand both sides of the transaction, which helps me advise clients with a more commercial mindset.

Having relocated from North Yorkshire back to Newcastle where I grew up, I bring experience from different regional markets while now focusing my work locally. I understand how buyer behaviour shifts by area, price point, and property type. I then use that insight to help sellers make informed decisions rather than emotional ones.

My approach is confident, honest, and practical. I’m not interested in overvaluing to win instructions or offering generic advice. I focus on results, particularly for homeowners who have already tried and are ready for a better strategy.

For fellow professionals, I’m always open to conversations, collaborations, and referrals where my experience can add value.
