International Foods Store expands operations in Sheffield with Cloud Zoned Audio System
When owners of the International Foods store Ozmens decided to expand operations in to a new store in Sheffield they called upon AV specialist integrators Definition Audio Visual to provide a comprehensive multi-zone audio solution for their new store.
Ozmens specialise in foods from around the world and their stores offer bakery, meat, fish, fruit, vegetable and frozen food departments. The new store, one of two stores in Sheffield, expands the company’s ability to supply a wide variety of foods including Kurdish, Greek, Asian Indian, Kosovan, Iranian, Polish, Romanian and Afro Caribbean to local customers.
Mark Blackwell, managing director, Definition Audio Visual told us “At Ozmens we provided a three-zone audio solution. We installed tean Cloud CS6B wall mount speakers in black in the food and checkout areas and another three speakers in the store’s entrance area. A further four CS6B surface wall mount speakers are installed in the warehouse area to the rear of the store effectively creating three separate audio zones”.
The loudspeakers, tapped at 32W maximum per speaker, are connected to two Cloud CXV225 100V amplifiers, each capable of delivering up to 250W output at 100V per channel. A Cloud Z4 MK4 four-zone mixer to which the audio sources and paging microphones are all connected is connected to the CXV225 amplifier channels. Three Cloud PM-4 four zone paging microphones, strategically located in the warehouse, food court and checkout areas, allow paging announcements to be made in or to any one or all three of the separate audio zones.
“Cloud’s paging system allows us to daisy chain paging microphone stations really easily. Using Cate 5e screened cable between stations almost any number of required paging microphones can be installed throughout the store and warehouse storage area which means too we can expand the system in the future if this becomes a requirement”, adds Mark Blackwell.
