    I just had a very pleasant visit to the open day at The Sheridan Suite on Oldham Road (A62) in Manchester. A great venue for corporate events, being a huge, versatile room but not a cold, empty rectangle. Rather, it is atmospherically lit and organically shaped by subtly variant floor levels for an easy flow through the space, with options to section areas off into discreet breakout points. If I were facilitating your major workshop, such as a corporate values event, it would be an ideal place for us to use. The stage area with full AV support offers a superb point of focus for presentations. Vanessa Myers, the MD, was on hand to explain the range of services the Sheridan offers and to insist that I try some of their free, freshly prepared food, much against my will obviously, which was every bit as good as I have heard it is. Not a shock, given the credentials of the chefs employed there and the reputation the Sheridan already enjoys as one of Manchester's best wedding venues. The open day is actually two days, 14 & 15 October until about 7.30 each day. Go and treat yourself to some excellent food (yes, free) in a relaxed ambience, size the place up and grill the enthusiastic managers and staff for information. Then when you come out planning that corporate event, get in touch with me to see what I can do to get the best out of the working part of the proceedings. I'm sure there was something I forgot to ask. I think I need to go back for seconds...
